Our Mission

SignSetu exists to make Aadhaar-based electronic signatures accessible to every business and individual in India. Document signing should not require expensive hardware tokens, complex software, or days of waiting. With SignSetu, you upload a PDF, verify your identity with an Aadhaar OTP, and receive a signed document in under two minutes.

We built SignSetu because we saw a gap: Digital Signature Certificates (DSCs) work well for government filings, but they are overkill for everyday business documents. Contracts, offer letters, rent agreements, vendor agreements — these documents need a signing method that is fast, affordable, and legally sound. Aadhaar eSign, authorised under Section 3A of the IT Act 2000, fills that gap. We make it simple to use.

How SignSetu Works

SignSetu connects to UIDAI's authentication infrastructure through eMudhra, a CCA-licensed eSign provider. When you sign a document, your identity is verified via Aadhaar OTP, a temporary signing key pair is generated by the Certifying Authority, and the document is cryptographically signed. The private key is destroyed immediately after signing — it is never stored or reused. The result is a tamper-proof PDF with a verifiable digital signature and a complete audit trail.

Every signed document includes a timestamp, signer identity (Aadhaar-verified), and a cryptographic hash that detects any post-signing modifications. This makes SignSetu-signed documents admissible as evidence under Section 65B of the Indian Evidence Act (Section 63, Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam 2023).

What We Stand For

Security

Every signature is backed by Aadhaar OTP verification through certified eSign providers. Your documents are encrypted at rest and in transit. We use 2048-bit RSA cryptography — the same standard that secures online banking.

Simplicity

Upload a document, add signers, and send — that's it. No complex setup, no training required. Signing takes under a minute with just an Aadhaar number and OTP.

Compliance

All signatures are legally valid under Section 3A of the Information Technology Act, 2000. We work with eMudhra, a CCA-licensed Certifying Authority, to ensure every signature meets the requirements of the IT (Electronic Signature) Rules, 2015.
